Bernie Mac Dies at 50

He’s played some of the strangest, most entertaining roles. I’ll miss him.

Wireless Pacemaker Attacks

Kevin Fu and his research team at the University of Washington demonstrated a proof-of-concept device that can disable pacemakers wirelessly. Not a happy thought. The team has a paper on the subject if you want some not-so-light reading about it. This comment also reminds us about the garage door opener fiasco with the same inherent problem.

The Kitten with Two Faces

A kitten was born in Ohio with two faces, and is otherwise perfectly healthy. It has a single brain and its mouths work in unison. Here’s a more annoying MSN video with different footage and another YouTube video.

CleverCSS

A Python-based CSS syntax, including variables and arithmetic.

Bike Thief

The Neistat Brothers show how easy it is to steal a bike in New York City. They use bolt cutters, a hacksaw, and an angle grinder to steal their own bike three times and no one walking by says a damn thing. Finally, on the fourth try, with a hammer and spike, someone stops and suggests how to do it better. (Here’s the video on YouTube if you don’t have QuickTime.)

Helsinki of the West

If I ever need a hood/screen replacement for my white MacBook, it will be black.

Imminent Domain

cjcsuhta.rubywater.net is now cjcsuhta.com.

The old URL will still work, but moving forward it will be phased out. It may eventually be changed to a 301 redirect, so I must unfortunately ask you to change your bookmarks and RSS feed subscriptions to come from cjcsuhta.com.

Speaking of RSS, an unfortunate side effect of the page URL changes might have caused your news reader to mark of all the content on CJCsuhta as new again. A one time evil, but necessary.

I promise there isn’t a large amount of shuffling around left.

Peggle on the DS

Sorting Contest

Today, for a dose of nerderly, you can force Java browser applets to race to sort dots based on eight different sorting algorithms.

College Life

In strange little animated form. It’s hilarious because it’s true.
